The Ahaan Foundation is a Non-Profit organisation registered and actively working both in India and Canada aiming to benifit women, childen and their families through active welfare projects on School Education, Services, Healthcare and Wellness, Livelihood-Skills Training & women empowerment through philanthropic collaboratios and partnerships with individuals, corporates and civil involvement.

Introduction to Our Founder Trustee

Ashu John is the Foundation – President of “The Ahaan Foundation’ and has over 15 years of experience in the field of Education and Social Activism. Ashu is passionate about education and upliftment of women and children. She is an expert and specialises in Student-Centred Instruction, Parental & Community Involvement, Educational Administration, Instructional Programming and a plethora of Outreach and Empowerment Programmes. She has successfully executed several International Exchange Programs on global themes like Environment Preservation, women and Child Empowerment, World Peace and Fairness & Equality. She holds a masters in English & Bachelors in Education. She has collaborated with schools in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Canada to promote prosperity and brotherhood as a globalised Society. She is a proud recipient of:

  • British Council Award and Global Competency Award for outstanding development of the International Exchange Programs and visits among school children of India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
  • Pearl Award for being a perfect combination of tradition and technology awarded by the managing Committee of SMCS.
  • The title of “Environment Conservationist” by “Hindon Jal Biradari”, India for her contribution in creating awareness against river pollution.
  • District Award by the State Government, Ghaziabad for sensitising school children about Women Empowerment and Environment Presentation.

Prashant Awasthi  Philanthropist | Marketing Professional | Educator | Digital Marketer
BBA, MBA, PGDCRM, EXIM MANAGEMENT, CERTIFIED YOGA INSTRUCTOR, Dynamic and motivated professional with a proven record of generating and building relationships, managing projects from concept to completion, designing educational strategies, and coaching individuals to success. Skilled in building cross-functional teams, demonstrating exceptional communication skills, and making critical decisions during challenges. Adaptable and transformational leader with an ability to work independently, creating effective presentations, and developing opportunities that further establish organizational goals.

Rishu Elizabeth John is a Human Resource Professional with a Masters in International Business from Edith Cowan University, Australia. She started her career in Education and Management with Educational Institutions, focussing on strategy and organization, and then went on to Human Resource Management. Based in Canada for the last 8 years, she has been helping people find meaningful work in her current role as a Senior Recruiter with one of the world's top workforce solutions provider. In her current role, she has worked extensively in managing multiple offices across Canadian provinces with great success. She closely works with various not for profit organizations in Canada and India that are focussed towards providing settlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants and Community vitality.

Introduction to Our Board of Advisors

Shobha Sharma is a Philonthropist in the true sense of word, having a vast experience of over 35 years in education, community outreach and women empowerment in India and Nepal. She is the Co-Founder and Chairperson of St. Mary's Educational and Charitable Society and has spent majority of her career in projects and activities focused on education, governance, leadership, management, planning and people engagement.

John Vianney Sharma is an electic educationalist with over 40 years of experience in the field of education and social service in India. He holds a Masters in Commerce and Bachelors in Education from India John has successfully launced, executed and implemented several educational upliftment and empowerment programmes throughout his career. He has held a number of Board of Advisory roles with various profit and non-rofit organisations over the past years and has contributed immensely toward their growth and development.

Niroj Maharajan is an Innoative Educator. He received his M.Sc. form Tribuvan Universal & M.Phil in Educational Leadership from Kathmandu University. After his fifteen-year of professional experience in the school system, now he works as the Principal of Annal Jyoti Boarding School, Nepal. Under his managerial leadership, the school has been involved in educational exchange with UK, Srilanka, bangladesh & India and has received several renowned, national and international awards. He has written school level books on science. He is a motivational speaker and conducts seminars and workshops for pupils. His conviction in education depicts passion, entrepreneurial & creative leadership skills helping to fasten innovation and lasting organisational change for relevant and real-world success.

Carman Gosselin is an international management solutions specialist with over 15 years of creating international business solutions. He has done MBA in international business and has been working on bridging the skills-gap through empowering the institutional mindset of young learners. Carman is honoured of be a part of The Ahaan Foundation.
