Members of The Ahaan Foundation visited Ujjwal&Uday Children’s Home for Boys (CHB) I & II under the Department of Women & Child Developmet, Govt. of NCT of Delhi on February 20, 2020.
Ujjwal&Uday Children Home for Boys (CHB) I & II is a home for 60 boys from age 10 years to 18 years. Children rescued from hazardous occupation, brothel, abusive families, or other such exploitative situation are sent directly to the children’s home by the Child Welfare Committee for their rehabilitation, restoration and social re-integration.
CHB works on the principle that all the children need love and care and to cater to this belief, The Ahaan Foundation conducted few educational activities with the residents to offer its contribution in ensuring best restoration pathways for the boys.
The event started with a group activity where boys were divided into groups of 3 boys each and activity sheets were distributed with the aim to apprise teenager boys on health and fitness. In this activity, children were required to make a collage on the subject matter from numerous newspapers and magazines made available to them.
All the boys thoroughly enjoyed and participated enthusiastically in this activity. This activity proved to be a perfect ice breaker between the residents and Team Ahaan.
Later, a small session on Health and Personal Hygiene was conducted by the Founder Director of The Ahaan Foundation, Ms. Ashu John. The boys scrupulously listened to each details given to them and clarified their doubts on the subject.
The day proved to be fructuous and entertaining for the boys as well as for the team.
